Visit Porto and North of Portugal Convention & Visitors Bureau, in collaboration with Visit Portugal in SouthKorea, recently hosted a Familiarization Trip with Korean Air, marking the airline’s first-ever visit to Portugal. This initiative, aligned with the launch of Korean Air’s new direct route to Lisbon, showcased our region’s finest, featuring rich gastronomy, and vibrant culture, leaving a positive impression on our guests.

Led by our Market Manager, Cátia Barbosa, with the collaboration of Fab Travel Portugal, we welcomed ten CEOs from top South Korean travel agencies, along with Korean Air representatives and the Director of Tourism of Portugal for South Korea and Japan. During their stay, guests explored the historic city center and iconic landmarks such as Livraria Lello and Palácio da Bolsa, enjoyed premium dining at renowned spots, and discovered the charm of our region through activities like a Douro River Cruise and visits to the WOW and Ferreira Wine Cellars.

The trip also included a valuable networking session at The Lodge Hotel, connecting key partners such as HF Hotels, Tempovip DMC Portugal, Spain & Morocco, and Living Tours. This session fostered important insights into the South Korean market and underscored the significance of this new route for both our region and the broader Portuguese tourism landscape.
