Porto and the North of Portugal region solidifies its excellence in tourism promotion with international recognition, winning five awards at the World’s Best Tourism Film Awards.

Porto and North Tourism Board was honored with 3rd place in the "Regions" category at the 36th CIFFT – World’s Best Tourism Film Awards, for the promotional film "For sure, they are from the North". This recognition places the film among the top three worldwide in its category, consolidating Porto and the North as a global reference destination.

The film is the result of an excellent partnership between Porto and North Tourism Board, the creative agency CaetsuTwo, and Lobby Productions, which translated this vision into striking and emotionally impactful images.

The CIFFT award marks another milestone in the film’s journey, which had already been honored at prestigious international festivals such as the Muse Awards 2024 (Gold), the Telly Awards 2024 (Gold) in New York, and the ART&TUR International (Silver) in Portugal, among others.

Over the past year, the film competed against high-profile, multi-million-dollar productions representing global destinations such as Switzerland, Canada, Indonesia, Spain, and the United States, featuring stars like Roger Federer, Robert De Niro, and Anne Hathaway.

A Tribute to the North

The region claimed four additional awards, earned by Conservas Pinhais, the Consortium of Municipalities of Ponte de Lima, Barcelos, Paredes de Coura, and Valença, the Serralves Foundation, and PortugalNTN:

• "The fisherman's daughter"  – 1st place in "Tourism Services"

• "Portuguese Central Way to Santiago. This is the Way" – 5th place in "Tourism Products"

• "Interconnected"  – 5th place in "Tourism Services"

• "We Are What We Feel"  – "People’s Choice"

Luís Pedro Martins, President of Porto and North Tourism Board, took the stage in Valencia to receive the award, accompanied by the CaetsuTwo agency and Lobby Productions.

In his speech, he emphasized: "These awards celebrate the authenticity and strength of the people of the North. We have many attributes, but our greatest asset is our people. This is a destination that moves, captivates, and stands out for its unique soul. These awards belong to all of us – they belong to the people of Porto and the North of Portugal!"

The CIFFT – World’s Best Tourism Film Awards are the most prestigious global competition for tourism promotional films, often referred to as the "Oscars of Tourism Cinema." This edition featured 4,000 entries from around the world, highlighting the high competitiveness and quality of the productions.
