Porto and the North of Portugal participated in the Sports & Events Europe, which took place in Málaga from March 25 to 27.

Sports & Events Europe is recognized as the largest gathering dedicated to sports tourism in Europe, serving as a key meeting point for professionals in sports travel and the MICE sector.

In this fourth edition of the event, our MICE Specialist, Patrícia Morris, represented Porto and the North of Portugal alongside our partners: Museu FC Porto, Leading, and Osiris.

During the three days of Sports & Events, which hosted 204 buyers and 195 suppliers from over 40 countries, participants had the opportunity to hold meetings with sports tour operators, event and incentive organizers, and also take part in various networking sessions.

Sports tourism is one of the sectors with great growth potential in tourism. It is estimated to have a growth rate of 17.5 per cent between 2023 and 2030, according to the UNWTO.
